Requirements
  A Bachelors Degree from any recognized US; Canadian, British, Australian or any
  affiliated American University. Any major is accepted. No experience is necessary.
  TEFL and TESOL certificates are welcomed.

  
Duties
  To teach conversational English to Korea adults or children. Working hours are from
  Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday classes) from early in the morning to late at
  night. Times will vary depending on schedule. Basic working hours: Teaching 95- 120
  hours per months. Classes will be consisting of either children or adults students.
  The most perspective instructors within the institution will train beginners
 
  
Working condition
  
Duration of Contract: One Year Contract (12 months) Teaching hours required:
  (95-120 hours per months) Monday - Friday, occasional or rotating Saturday classes.
  Standard work hours are teaching 30 hours per week. Each session is 4 weeks long.

  
Salary:
  From 1.5m won to 1.9m won a month. Salary are usually paid in Won on a designated
  date set by the employer.
  Local Currency: (1,150 won equal to $1,00 US) or (800 won equal to $1.00 Canadian
  Dollar) Estimate

  
Airfare
  Free Airfare: Employer provides free airfare in most cases. In most cases, one ticket is
  reimbursed upon arrival in Korea. Return airfare is provided to the nearest international
  airport of residency upon completion of contract.
  Jobs provide rent-free housing (Fully Furnished) or housing allowance
  (250,000-400,000 won).
  Teachers will be provided a furnished living quarter, either a two-three bedroom
  (shared with one other teacher) All houses will be provided with all furnishing
  necessities.
  Utilities will range from 30,000won - 60,000won (depending on housing.)Free round trip
  airfare (Usually the first one-way airfare is reimbursed by employers)
  Note: Deposits are usually collected by employer for utilities and telephone bills. Lately,
  telephone and utilities can be register under employee name. So employer may not
  require deposit. Deposits are return to employee at the end of the contract.

  
Severance Pay
  Bonus: Depending on the completion of contract, employer is required to pay employee
  a bonus. Bonus pay will usually range from 1.2million won-1.5million won. Under Korean
  Law, employer must pay a bonus to a teacher, who has completed a contract.
  Overtime Pay ranges from (13,000won - 16,000won per hour.) Overtime is calculated in
  excess to the required hours fulfilled during the month session.
  Working Sponsorship If necessary (Paid Visa-Run to Japan)

  
Medical Benefits
  Coverage: Institute or school owners are required by law to provide medical benefits
  under Korean Medical Insurance Union, a private health organization.
  Employer provides 50% of medical bill. The other 50% of the medical bill is deducted
  from employee's salary. Roughly 30,000w-40,000 is deducted as medical benefit.

  
Tax:
  3.5%-7% of Korean Income Tax will be deducted from salary. Not liable for home based
  taxation. (Usually there are no home based taxation)
  
  
Condition of teaching
  
The teacher's work shall consist primarily of the following:
  Class Size: 8 to 10 students; ranging from pre-school to adult students.
  Materials & Resources: employer provides Textbooks, teacher's guidebooks, and other
  materials. Teachers may choose to use personal or other educational programs and
  resources.

  
Grading & Evaluation:
  Quizzes and tests may be required to be given to students. In addition, curriculum
  schedules are needed and implemented.
  Other related activities: Out of classroom activities *Children Classes only*
  Attendance at teacher's meetings and workshops.
  Usually Adult position are required to travel teach and classes are split shift
  (Morning & Evening Classes)

  
Holidays & Sick Days
  Holidays: 10-14 Korean Holidays
  Vacations: 10-14 vacation days
  Sick Days: Employees' are encouraged not to miss session for any particular reasons.
  In case of emergencies, employer will give sick days'. Only with prior notification
  employee will be excused.
  Note: Vacation and sick days can vary in accordance with the policies of the employer
  and school.
  Additional Information: Employer's term and policies will vary, but the above information
  is a standard working condition in Korea. Once a school hires you, further instructions
  will be given to you.
