Seoul, the capital of Korea, is
the hub of all these changes.
It has become a technologically savvy city,
blending both modern and traditional lifestyles.
Korea is very popular among foreign
tourists. It has held major events
in the past such as: the Asian Games, the
1993 Taejon EXPO, "Visit Korea Year"
in 1994, the celebration of the 600th Anniversary
of Seoul becoming the capital of Korea,
the Kwanju Biennale, the 1999 EXPO in Kwangwon
Province, and most importantly the 1988
Olympics. Soon, Korea is set to
hold the Asian Games in Pusan and co-host
the 2002 World Cup with Japan. This is the
first sporting event ever to be hosted by
two countries simultaneously. This joint
effort between Korea and Japan brings hope,
peace and prosperity to all. |
