Taking the bus may differ from
city to city. In Seoul, there are basically
two types of buses. One is the City Bus
and the other is the "Chwa-Sok Bus"
meaning seating bus.
The City Bus fare
is 600 won for an adult, which travels on
a local route. The bus will travel quickly
throughout the city because of a Bus Only
Lane (Express Lane for buses). So if you
don't like traveling underground, it is
advisable to ride the city bus. Sorry transfers
aren't available, you must pay the fare
again. Be careful and pay attention, bus
signs are in Korean, so try to familiarize
yourself with the bus number.
The Chwa-Sok
Bus is a bus with seats (you must often
stand in a city bus). It stops less frequently
and travels faster throughout the congested
areas of Seoul. Its route is on the same
Bus Only Lane as the City Bus, except it
will travel like an express bus. Bus fare
is 1200-1300 won respectively, and 20% increase
after midnight (12AM to 4AM) The Chwa-Sok
Bus is more comfortable and faster than
the City Bus. |
